My Father’s Daughter was inspired by the works of Red Candle Games, a Taiwanese video game developer that specializes in psychological horror games. Though the music is more similar to the soundtrack of the game Detention, the title draws upon the plot of Devotion, a story about a screenwriter who falls into religious fanaticism after his daughter’s mental health deteriorates.
