Program Notes: Betrayal is a common theme found throughout many storylines of Genshin Impact, a Chinese mobile game I have found myself enamored with. The most interesting story to me goes like this: Ajax, a young and mildly-homicidal soldier from the fictional nation of Snezhnaya, befriends a mysterious man. Later, he finds out that the man is a local god and has been manipulating Ajax into wreaking havoc on his country. Fans tend to ignore one detail: The friends never make up after this secret is revealed.. 

Premiere Information: Ajax and the World Destroyer was premiered by Wen Wen Van Der Wende at the Studio D Electroacoustic Recital on April 13th, 2023.
